Welcome To Kerri's Classroom
Hi, I'm Kerri Terk
I live with my husband, two boys, a dog and two cats.
My favorite place to be is outdoors, close to or in the water.
I love to run, hike, swim and garden.
I also love reading, taking pictures, playing piano and watching baseball with my husband.
I try to live each day with optimism, joy, curiosity and hard work.
My education background
- I earned my BA in Elementary Education and Psychology from Keene State College 1997
- I returned to Keene State College for to earn MA in Education WEL program 2004
- I am currently attending RIT to earn my MA in Education for Deaf and HH children
I am so excited to meet you all. Each family is an essential part of this classroom community and I hope you will all come into the classroom throughout the school year. All students will benefit from family involvement, and with your presence our community can be complete.

In My Classroom
Each of your children will know that I believe in them. Teaching is a mutual experience in my classroom. My lessons will cover our curriculum; they will be designed for my students based on their self identities and specific learning needs. I expect every day to learn from my students as well, they will have ideas, cultural wisdoms and background knowledge that will expand my worldview. In this classroom we will each sign a full value contract. The full value contract will encompass five components that will ensure that we honor each other and ourselves at full value. This will include building and caring for relationships, challenging ourselves and each other to learn and grow, making sure to include one another, helping hands: knowing what we need and what each other needs to heal and thrive, empowering one another to meet goals and set new ones.

How We Will Learn
- We will have 3 Dimensional learning
- Lessons will be brought to life through experiential learning
- Throughout the year units will be presented in learning centers
- We will welcome guests who represent the multiple cultures in our class
- Language learning will include language arts and cultural principles as well
- We will have several field trips, we are lucky to have public transportation and places within walking distance of the school
- Math will have manipulatives to deepen understanding of concepts
